Player Presser #3 – Egg

GoldenrodPress caught up with a member of our Pokémon Unite roster – MVP of Gameweek One, Egg!

GRP: Tell us about yourself!

Egg: My name is Egg, I’m based in London, and outside of playing Unite I love to make cosplay and photograph at conventions!

GRP: When did you start playing Pokémon?

Egg: My earliest memory of Pokémon is playing the card game at primary school, admitted I didn’t play them well but I just love the artwork on them. Sadly I had my beloved deck stolen at school and I miss my Moltres and Lugia card every day.

GRP: Favourite Pokémon & Why?

Egg: This is a very difficult question to answer because there are so many cool designs! I love chikorita, vaporeon and most of the grass types. The outlier favourite for me is metagross – it’s always a must have on my team.

GRP: What brought you to Pokémon Unite?

Egg: I had fallen out of love of the mainstream games after sun and moon, but still wanted to be involved in Pokémon in some way and that’s what made me pick up Unite!

GRP: What would you say is your strongest role?

Egg: I enjoy playing support as it allows me to focus on my team more than the other side! Plus I just love Blissey and her need to make sure everyone is well fed with boiled eggs!

GRP: Which Pokémon would you consider your main and what is your favourite part about playing them?

Egg: Along with Blissey I love the play style of Hoopa, even if I sometimes teleport my entire team away while they’re ripping Ray. Sorry guys!

GRP: Which Pokémon do you want to see brought to unite?

Egg: Vaporeon – I would love to see it as a support with a self-healing skin / hydro pump for push back and water pulse!

GRP: What drew you to joining GoldenrodPress?

Egg: I loved how friendly the team was in community games and wanted to be a part of that.

GRP: What made you want to compete in the competitive circuit?

Egg: Pokémon Unite can be a bit fickle with standard ranked games, I wanted to play in a more balanced and fair environment, as well as enjoying how draft games play out.

GRP: How do you see the team’s improvement/progression?

Egg: We have already come so far as we learn together and solidify our team play, it all comes down to clear communication!

GRP: What are your goals in unite?

Egg: I would love to try and get to worlds!

GRP: What do you do to relax/decompress away from Unite?

Egg: I don’t get much time to relax and decompress – but if I’m not on Unite I’m editing my backlog of cosplay photography.

GRP: Top tip for new players?

Egg: Consider playing defender or support when playing solo queue and stick to the strongest player!
