Following on from our success in hosting the Goldenrod Gala series, GoldenrodPress are hosting a league tournament, beginning on the weekend of the 24th August!

Please see our ruleset below – **SIGNUPS ARE NOW CLOSED, CONTACT A SERVER ADMIN SHOULD YOUR TEAM WISH TO BE A REPLACEMENT IN THE EVENT OF ANY DROP OUTS**

League Format:

  • Each team plays each other twice during the regular season
  • Three games per match, teams get one point for each win
  • Teams will alternate being first and second pick throughout the set – the “Home” team will be first pick in games one and three, the “Away” team will be first pick in game two
  • Matches played Saturday & Sunday from 7pm UK time
  • Bans: Each captain submits two bans in the captain’s chat before the game (the “Home” team captain will choose their bans first) – these bans will remain in place for all three games. Teams will then ban as normal each games (in game bans will not stack)
  • Selecting a captain banned Pokémon results in a 500-0 game loss
  • Top four teams at the end of the league will enter a playoff to decide the overall winner. The semi final (1st v 4th & 2nd v 3rd) will be best of three, the grand final will be best of five.
  • Teams level on points will be separated by goal difference
  • Forfeiting is banned due to the above goal difference separation – the team forfeiting will lose all their points and the winning team will either keep their points scored or receive 500

Season Bans:

  • EX Pokémon are permanently banned
  • Any bans to bugged or new Pokémon will be voted on by team captains
  • Any bugged Pokémon allowed will be carefully watched, any bug abuse results in a 500-0 game loss

Registration:

  • Teams must register 7 players at the start of the season
  • All players must join the GoldenrodPress server – teams will be given their own text and voice chat
  • Players must use the voice chats provided in the GoldenrodPress server during games; only registered players are permitted to use voice chat during games
  • Any five of the seven can play at any point of the set

Roster Changes:

  • A minimum of twelve hours notice is required for any roster changes
  • Teams are allowed a maximum of THREE permanent changes throughout the season
  • Emergency subs can be used but only if your available roster drops below five members for a fixture
  • Emergency subs cannot be used in successive weeks (if emergency subs are required for exceptional circumstances, discuss this with the admin team)
  • Teams unable to field a full team have their match recorded as a 3-0 defeat; exceptions to this rule are as below:
  • If a sub, or a permanent roster change, is requested less than twelve hours before a set, the decision to allow/deny the sub/new member from playing will be at the opposing captain’s discretion. We would prefer that subs are not denied without fair reason and games are played where possible. To avoid this from being abused, games abandoned due to a captain denying the request for an emergency sub will scored only as 1-0

Fixture Changes:

  • Must be agreed by both captains and communicated to admins by midnight on the Wednesday before the affected weekend at the latest. Captains should, again, only withhold this for fair reason. Games abandoned due to captains denying will be scored 1-0
  • All fixture schedule changes after midnight the wednesday prior (barring an exceptional circumstance which must be discussed with the admin team) will be rejected and the abandoned game scored 3-0.
  • We will look to replace any abandoned fixtures with a Bo3 exhibition set

Lateness/No Shows:

  • If a team no shows without communicating to an admin twice during the season, they will be allowed to remain in the league for the rest of the season but will be ineligible to join the top four playoff
  • If a team is late by up to 10 minutes they will incur a 500-0 game loss
  • If a team is late by more than 10 minutes they will lose the set, unless the opposing team are willing to wait
  • If a team no shows three times during the season (or two weeks consecutively), they will be removed from the league

Admin:

  • Any & all decisions on teams will be made by members of the admin team not participating in the tournament.
  • All games will be livestreamed. Lobbies will be created by the admin team
  • Banter between teams is, of course, allowed. However, toxicity is not. Teams receiving three strikes for toxic behaviour will be disqualified
